IPMA C is the program suitable for project managers and project leaders with approximately three or more years of experience. During this IPMA C training, you study the theory at home by reading the material, watching videos, and practicing with questions. This ensures that you are optimally prepared for each training day to practice individually and in small groups with what you have learned. 

The IPMA-C training is an intensive and practice-oriented program specifically designed for experienced project managers who want to deepen their knowledge and skills and qualify as a certified project manager at level C, in accordance with the international standards of the International Project Management Association (IPMA). This training is aimed at professionals who have already been responsible for managing projects of medium to high complexity and who want to demonstrate their expertise through an internationally recognized certificate.

During the IPMA-C training, you will learn how to lead projects more effectively and efficiently by developing and refining a broad range of project management skills. The training combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications, ensuring that you not only understand what it takes to lead a successful project but also know how to apply that knowledge in practice. The program covers the 29 competencies from the IPMA Individual Competence Baseline (ICB), divided into three main domains: personal competencies, practice competencies, and contextual competencies. Among other things, you will learn how to effectively deal with complex project environments, manage risks, engage stakeholders, and inspire teams to work together towards success.

A key component of the IPMA-C training is building a portfolio in which you demonstrate your experience and competencies. You will learn how to analyze and document your projects in a way that meets IPMA’s criteria. In addition, the training prepares you for the certification process, which consists of a written exam and an assessment interview. The program provides extensive guidance and support to ensure that you start this process with confidence and full preparation.

The training is suitable for project managers and project leaders with approximately three or more years of experience. In addition to the 4 training days, you should plan for approximately 8 hours of study preparation and 24 hours for the exam.

n traditional training, the trainer is the main source of information, presenting slides, explaining theory, and giving feedback. In a flipped classroom, the approach is different: participants study the theory at home and use class time to apply their knowledge in practice. Working independently or in small groups, you solve real-life cases under the guidance of a facilitator who is available for questions throughout the program. This blended learning method increases engagement, ownership, and impact.

Program highlights:

• Day 1: Role and responsibilities of the project manager, engaging the sponsor, project start-up, managing risks, quality, and stakeholders.

• Day 2: Work breakdown and estimation, planning (activities, finances, resources, milestones), procurement, teamwork, change management, and dealing with resistance or conflict.

• Day 3: Controlling and reporting progress, leadership, communication, self-reflection and integrity, managing others, and personal time management.

• Day 4: Project closure, negotiation, links with program and portfolio management, culture and regulations, setting up PMO, and exam tips.

IPMA C is the program suitable for project managers and project leaders with approximately three or more years of experience. You will be challenged to come up with (creative) solutions for the given practical cases.

After this training, you will have gained insight into IPMA and solid knowledge of the IPMA Competences. You will also be better equipped to successfully fulfill your role within projects.

After this training, you will:

• have knowledge of the definitions of a project, project management, and program management;

• understand project phases and organization within projects;

• master methods and techniques for project planning, control, and quality assurance;

• have knowledge of budgeting and finance within a project;

• master the basic principles of project management and project teams;

• be optimally prepared for the IPMA D theory exam.

The IPMA C theory exam can be requested directly by the participant through IPMA Certification Netherlands.

A combination of classroom sessions and self-study: you study the theory at home and practice the application together during the training.
